Starting a new adventure as a trainee!

Enshore ERP and Enshore Security have gained another team member! Eelke missed the opportunity to offer a total solution as a physiotherapist and his passion for IT made him switch to ERP. Wendy's attention for information security grew during her studies in HBO-ICT, which is why she chose the Security Consultant traineeship. In this article they tell why they chose Enshore and about their experience so far.

Eelke - trainee ERP

What did you do before joining Enshore?

I studied physical therapy at Hanseatic University and then worked as a physical therapist for two years. But I've always had a great affinity for computers and IT. I like to puzzle and get stuck into problems, which is why the ERP traineeship suits me well. As a physical therapist, I lacked the ability to provide a total solution; it always required the cooperation and motivation of patients. In the world of IT, I can contribute to finding complete solutions, and even if I don't have an immediate solution on my own, I can always count on the expertise of colleagues.

Why did you choose the ERP traineeship at Enshore?

Since I have no background in IT, I was looking for a traineeship. I already knew some colleagues at Enshore and heard positive experiences from them. At Enshore there is a flat organizational structure, where everyone is on an equal level. This really appealed to me. Moreover, there is a lot of emphasis on personal development and investment in staff, which I find very important.

How did you experience the traineeship and how does your currente role out?

The traineeship was well structured with a logical structure. The trainings fit together seamlessly and were very interactive. You dive straight into the systems, which ensures that you learn quickly. I also liked the fact that each training session was given by a different colleague. This way I could quickly get to know my colleagues and their areas of expertise, so I knew who I could turn to later with specific questions.

After the traineeship, I am responsible for customer system administration. My duties range from managing simple things in the ERP system such as employee contracts to maintaining the warehouse and managing printers. Our team ensures that all these aspects run smoothly and are streamlined.

How do you like it so far at Enshore?

Enshore really does what they promise you, so it is everything I expected it to be. Enshore immediately gives you a sense of confidence, even though you have only just started working there. For example, you get to plan your own day and you also get to work from home. I really enjoy the work, I'm doing puzzles every day. In addition, contact with colleagues is very easy. There is a start every other day, which makes it easy to ask questions.

Wendy - Trainee security consultant

What did you do before joining Enshore Security?

I just came out of college and studied college ICT before starting as a trainee security consultant. I have actually always been interested in computers. During my studies I found out that software development wasn't quite my thing and I chose to go in the security & networking direction. I enjoy working on security and researching how to secure something in the best way. It's a world that is always evolving, so you always have to keep learning.

Why did you choose Enshore Security?

Having just come out of college and having no work experience, I was looking for a traineeship. I was looking for a job where I could work and continue to learn at the same time. During my studies I did the minor Privacy Management and I found this very interesting. I have the technical knowledge, but I like writing policy the most. That was reflected in this job posting and attracted me a lot.

What does your current role within Enshore Security look like?

Right now, I am still learning a lot from colleagues. I get to watch a lot of their work and help advise clients and ensure that an organization complies with standards frameworks such as ISO 27001. During my traineeship, my colleagues had come up with a case where I had to implement a standards framework at an organization. This was very interesting and made you dive straight into the work. I really liked the fact that at least for the first period of my new job I had a clear picture. After the traineeship I was soon allowed to go along to clients, so I could learn a lot and try out for myself.

How are you experiencing it so far at Enshore Security?

I am completely in my place. It's a nice company with nice people. You can approach anyone and everyone thinks with you and wants to help you. I also like that it is a young team with people from different backgrounds. As a result, there is no hierarchy and there is a lot of room for your own interpretation. The different backgrounds also ensure that colleagues can complement each other well. In addition, I really like the work, as a Security Consultant you have a lot of contact with customers and you can take a look inside various companies, which is very instructive when you are new in the field.
